This chapter provides instructions for using the MetaCommunications Server Configuration tool. It is important to note that the Server Configurator was launched as part of the standard installation process discussed in the previous chapter. As a result, you do not need to perform the activities described in this chapter as part of your routine installation process. Instead, this chapter serves as a reference for performing common tasks with the Server Configurator once your server components have been installed and you need to make a configuration change.
The Server Configuration tool is installed with the server components and is available in the Start-> Programs-> MetaCommunications menu of your Windows Server computer.
Warning: Using the Server Configuration Tool will stop the Application Server. As a result, all users connected to the database will be disconnected.
Common activities for which the Server Configuration Tool is used include:
- Changing company registration information. See Changing Company Registration Information.
- Adding new and removing existing server and client licenses. See Adding and removing server and client licenses.(This can also be done by using the Application Server Shell.)
