Configuring the Image Portal Web Server
The Image Portal Web Server allows customers, external departments and employees to use the Internet and any common web browser software to access and download digital resources referenced within a Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with Digital Storage Manager database, regardless of their current archiving state. This chapter provides details of administrative procedures for setting up and customizing the Image Portal Web Server system.
Note: The procedures described in this section can only be completed once the Image Portal Web Server has been installed. For instructions on installing Image Portal Web Server, please refer to “Installing the Image Portal Web Server”.
Prior to initial use, the Image Portal Web Server must be properly configured using the dedicated Image Portal configuration page.
As part of the Image Portal configuration, you may define the name of the web site, the name of the Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with Digital Storage Manager database that will be used to publish digital resources to the web server, SQL Server login information, the maximum number of files returned per query, etc.

Opening the Image Portal Configuration Page
1. Open your preferred web browser and type the URL for the configuration page in the address bar.
http://<your web site name>/metacomm/configuration/v_setup.asp
2. Press Enter/Return. A Login Dialog will appear.
3. Type the User Name and Password of a user with Administrative privileges on the server hosting Image Portal Web Server. Press OK when done. The configuration page will open.
Saving Image Portal Configuration Parameters
4. Click Save when you have finished configuring Image Portal. All parameter settings in the Configuration Page will be saved and applied to the Image Portal Web Server.
