Database Connection Parameters

Database Connection Parameters

The Database Connection Parameters are used to configure the Image Portal Web Server to communicate with the Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with Digital Storage Manager database.

Setting Database Connection Parameters

1. Open the Image Portal Configuration Page.

2. Scroll down to the section marked “Database Connection Parameters”.

3. Type the address of the Microsoft SQL Server hosting the Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with Digital Storage Manager database. If the SQL Server is on the same machine that Image Portal Web Server is installed on, type “local” (without quotes).

4. Type the name of the Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with Digital Storage Manager database in the “Metacommunications database name” field.

5. Type the SQL Server login name in the “Microsoft SQL Server login user name” field.

6. Type the password for the SQL Server login name in the “Microsoft SQL Server login user password” field.

7. Click Test to test the database connection parameters defined thus far. A new browser window will open.

If the test is successful, continue on to the next step. If the test is not successful, check your database connection parameters to see if there is a typo in any of the fields and test again once you have made any changes.

8. Type a database connection time-out value (in number of seconds) in the “Database connection timeout” field.

9. Type a database command timeout value (in number of seconds) in the “Database command timeout” field.

10. Save the Database Connection settings by clicking Save. Continue on to “Download Parameters”.
