The Download Parameters group is used by the web server to establish a connection to the downloads folder. This folder is the location where files users request to download are located and hosted from. When a user has permission to download a file, the file will be automatically compressed by the user-selected method (.zip or .sit and copied to this location on the server.
1. Open the Image Portal Configuration Page.
2. Scroll down to the section marked “Download parameters”.
3. In the “Users root directory” field, type the path to the root directory established to hold the files users request to download. If this is not a local directly, the remote location may be typed in UNC format.
4. In the “Users root directory access account username” field, type the account name of an authorized user with read/write privileges to the Users root directory. Depending on your security settings, this may not be required.
5. In the “Users root directory access account password” field, type the password corresponding with the “users root directory access account username”. Depending on your security settings, this may not be required.
6. In the “Users root directory URL” field, type the URL (HTTP or FTP) to the users root directory.
7. Click Test to test the download parameters defined thus far. A new browser window will open (below left).
Click the hyperlink in the initial test window. This will attempt to access the download directory based on the download parameters specified in this section of the configuration page. If the test is successful, continue on to the next step. If the test is not successful, check your database connection parameters to see if there is an error in any of the fields and test again once you have made any changes.
8. Save the Download Parameters settings by clicking Save. Continue on to “Retrieval Request Parameters”.
