Additional Parameters

Additional Parameters

The parameters included in the Additional Parameters group are used to configure logging information, error information and email information.

Setting Additional Parameters

1. Open the Image Portal Configuration Page.

2. Scroll down to the section marked “Additional Parameters”.

3. Type a path for the location where you would like the Image Portal log file to be created. If no path is specified, the log file will not be created. The path must be in the absolute format and point to a location with write permissions for the web server.

4. Type the maximum number of files to be returned per user search query. A lower number will increase performance at the expense of comprehensive results. Higher numbers help ensure search results are comprehensive, but may decrease performance.

5. Enable the “Report Errors to Client Browser” checkbox if you want internal web server errors to be reported to the client browser.

6. Type an email address where you would like errors sent to. If provided, the internal web server errors will be reported to the specified email address via the SMTP server specified below.

7. Type the address for the SMTP email server for sending email error messages.

8. Type the email address of the web master for Image Portal. If specified, this address will be visible to the web server users so they can report any technical problems to the web master.

9. Save the Additional Parameters settings by clicking Save. At this point, configuration of the Image Portal Web Server is complete. To run a diagnostics report, see “Image Portal Diagnostics”. At this point, the Image Portal Administrator should begin preparing the system for use by logging in to the Image Portal Web Server as the Administrator user and completing the preparation steps described in “Preparing and Managing Image Portal Web Server for use”.
