Duplicating An Estimate

Duplicating An Estimate

If your company produces a significant amount of similar quotes or if you want to review how separate variables may affect a quote, you may use Job Manager's Duplicate Estimate feature to copy an existing estimate defined in the database. The Duplicate Estimate window is designed to provide an efficient method for duplicating existing estimates without having to rebuild the estimate from scratch with the Estimate/Quote Entry & Edit window. The Duplicate Estimate/Quote window will make a copy of the original estimate information and associate it with a new estimate number of your choice.

Duplicating an existing estimate

  1. Select the Estimates tab. This will open the Estimates Home page.
  2. Select the Duplicate Estimate link above the header of the page. The Duplicate Estimate page will appear.

  1. Type the first few characters of the Estimate name and press Tab or use the Estimate Selector Tool ( ) to open a selectable list of all Estimates.

  1. Type the estimate number of the new estimate you want to create in the Estimate Number field or type "<auto>" if you want to use Job Manager's auto-numbering capabilities.
  2. Select the appropriate duplication options by clicking the appropriate checkboxes*.*
  3. Click DUPLICATE ( ) to create a copy of the estimate or click DUPLICATE AND VIEW ( ) to create a copy of the estimate and display its details. Either method will create a duplicate of the original estimate.

At this point, the estimate has been duplicated and is now ready to be edited, reviewed, or printed for approval by your Customer.
