Converting An Estimate Into A Job
Once an estimate has been approved by your customer, you may convert the estimate into a Job using the Estimate/Quote Entry & Edit window in Job Manager. Converting an estimate to a live job significantly reduces the time needed for data entry in creating the job and provides an audit trail, allowing you to review the estimates that become live jobs.
Converting an Estimate into a Job
NOTE: If the estimate has already been converted to a live job, the To Job link will not be available.
- Type the job number of the new job in the Job Number field or type "<auto>" if you want to use Job Manager's auto-numbering capabilities.
- OPTIONAL: Enter the due date and due time for the job in the appropriate fields. This may also be a good time to add or modify any other job information.
- Click Add (
). This will save the new job to the database and make it available for use throughout the rest of the Job Manager system.
At this point, a job has been created within the Job Manager application. The job's information can be edited, printed, or deleted directly from the Job Entry & Edit window, or it can be reviewed and reported through one of Job Manager's job-based viewers and reports.
