The Portal Integration Tool is used to provide on-demand access to MetaCommunications desktop clients as needed by Workgroups Portal users. When users navigate to a portion of Workgroups Portal that requires the use of a desktop client, the Portal Integration Tool provides the ability to download and launch the required client.
Since the purpose of the Portal Integration Tool is to launch desktop client applications from Workgroups Portal, there is a limited amount of interaction users have directly with the Portal Integration Tool itself. This interaction is limited to the following:
