The Portal Integration Tool Warning Message

The Portal Integration Tool Warning Message will appear each time you attempt to access an area within Workgroups Portal that requires a desktop client. This message can be turned off in your User Preferences, however it will continue to appear if:

The Portal Integration Tool has not yet been installed.

There is a newer version of the Portal Integration Tool on the server than what is currently installed.

If the Portal Integration Tool Warning Message is turned off, when navigating to an area of Workgroups Portal that requires the use of a desktop client, the Portal Integration Tool will work transparently to download (if required) and launch the necessary desktop client.

Turning off the Portal Integration Tool Warning Message

This procedure is for turning off the Portal Integration Tool Warning Message in the message window (see capture below). 

  1. Enable the "I already have it installed..." checkbox in the Portal Integration Display Warning Message window.
  2. Click OK. The warning message will not be displayed in the future (unless there is a new version of the Portal Integration Tool is available on the server). Additionally, the "Invitation to Download the Portal Client Integration Tool" checkbox in the Warning Messages section of your Preferences will be cleared (see diagram below).
