Media Profiles are used to enable and configure the Digital Storage Manager Helper Applications for simplifying archive and retrieval tasks. When configured and enabled, Helper Applications are available to users to help with archiving and retrieval tasks.
When enabled, Helper Applications are available for selection in both the Archive Options and Retrieve Options windows.
Helpers are available to assist with various types of media. Some Helpers are available only in the desktop client for a specific operating system, while other Helpers are available only for archiving activities. Consult the table below for an overview of each Helper.
