Configuring the Helper Applications in the Digital Storage Manager client consists of configuring two steps:
In most cases, this step only consists of selecting and enabling the Helper Applications you want to use for Archiving and Retrieving on Tape and/or CD/DVD media. For the CA ARCserve Backup, Retrospect, and Rimage Helper Applications, additional configuration information is required.

This step allows you to define the automatic naming conventions for media volumes, the ability for users to override these, and the default Helper Applications to use for Archiving and Retrieving.
