Installing Additional InterSync Instances on Remote File Servers

This chapter provides instructions for installing and configuring InterSync on remote Windows 2003 Server file servers. InterSync is available only for Digital Storage Manager systems and Virtual Ticket systems that use the DSM Extension.

You may skip this chapter if you do not use Digital Storage Manager either alone or in a combined system with Virtual Ticket.

For maximum performance, InterSync should be installed on each Windows 2003 Server computer that hosts files you want scanned by InterSync. Remote Mac OS X file shares that you want scanned by InterSync must be scanned remotely from a Windows 2003 Server computer running InterSync. If the only files you want scanned by InterSync reside on the same Windows 2003 Server computer that hosts the MetaCommunications Server, InterSync was likely already installed on that computer during the initial MetaCommunications Server installation.
