Installation and Configuration Overview

Installation and Configuration Overview

In addition to installing InterSync, several configuration steps are described as part of the installation process. These include:

Selecting the Remote SQL Server

As part of the installation process for additional InterSync instances, you will need to identify and provide the password for the remote SQL Server that InterSync should connect to.

Selecting Databases to Configure

Once you have identified the remote SQL Server this instance of InterSync will connect to, you will need to select a database to configure. Selecting the database to configure means simply selecting the correct database hosted on the remote SQL Server in which you want the results of the InterSync scanning to be stored in. Since it is possible for SQL Server to host multiple databases, be sure you select the correct database to work with this instance of InterSync.

Adding Production Folders

Once you have identified and the remote SQL Server and database, you need to add Production Folders to be processed.

Folders that are local to this instance of InterSync will be installed on should be added. Additionally, folders that are located on remote Mac OS X servers can be monitored by either the instance of InterSync located on the Server or (for load balancing and performance reasons) by this (or any other remote) instance of InterSync. Folders located on other Windows 2003 Server computers should be monitored by their own local instance of InterSync.

Adding Archive Folders

Once you have added Production Folders, you need to add Archive Folders.

Folders that are local to this instance of InterSync should be added.
