Logging In to DSM

To prevent unauthorized access and identify the user in the DSM System, users must log in to Digital Storage Manager (DSM) on startup. Logging in is done through the User Login window. DSM authenticates users based on User ID and Password information

Server Connection Information

Displays the Server that the DSM client will attempt to connect to. When clicked, the DSM Application Server Settings Window will open, allowing you to specify server connections.

User ID

Field for typing the unique User ID assigned by the Administrator.

Password

Field for typing the password assigned by the Administrator.

Cancel

Closes the DSM application without attempting to log in.

OK

Attempts to log in to the DSM server identified in the connection information box, using the User ID and Password defined in the above fields.

Procedures

To log in to DSM:

  1. Type the User ID in the User ID field.
  2. Type the password in the Password field.
  3. Click OK.

To open the Application Server Settings window:

  1. Click the Server Connection Information active text. The User Login: Application Server Settings window will open.

To quit DSM without logging in:

  1. Click Cancel. The User Login window will close without logging in.
