Retrieval Request Queue Window

Window Objects

Search

Conducts the Retrieval Request search, refreshing and updating the results.

Save

Opens the Save Find window for saving the search as a new Find. See Step 13 in “Creating Finds” for more information.

Search Results

Displays the results in form and list views.

Digital Resources

Displays thumbnails of folders and files for which Retrieval Requests have been generated.

Open/Close Search Condition

Opens and closes the search condition editor. This functionality is unused in the Retrieval Request Queue window.

Form View

Displays selected Retrieval Requests in the Retrieval Request Form.

List View

Displays the open Retrieval Requests without the associated Retrieval Request Form.

Archive

Archives the files and folders corresponding to the selected digital resources. See Archive Options window for more information. This button is only active in the Digital Resources tab.

Retrieve

Retrieves the files and folders corresponding to the selected digital resources. See Retrieval Options window for more information. This button is only active in the Digital Resources tab.

Move

Moves the files and folders corresponding to the selected digital resources. See Moving Files and Folders for more information. This button is only active in the Digital Resources tab.

Edit

Opens the Retrieval Request in the Retrieval Request form for editing. See Retrieval Request Form for more information.

Delete

Deletes the selected Retrieval Request. No files are deleted from the file system.

Retrieval Request List Pane

Displays a selectable list of all open Retrieval Requests.

Retrieval Request Form Pane

Displays the Retrieval Request Form for the selected Retrieval Request.

Customize Grid

Opens the Grid Customization window.

Procedures

To change the status of a Retrieval Request:

  1. Select a Retrieval Request.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Select the Status drop-down menu and select a status.
  4. Click Update. The user who initiated the Retrieval Request will receive a notification.

To open the destination folder for a Retrieval Request in a Finder window:

  1. Select a Retrieval Request.
  2. Click Open in File System in the Retrieval Request Form. A Finder window will open for the destination directory. If you have access to the requested files, you can drag and drop them into the Finder window and set the status for the Retrieval Request to Completed.

To complete a Retrieval Request:

  1. Copy the files to be retrieved to the indicated destination and change the status of the Retrieval Request to Completed and click Update. A notification will be sent to the user who created the Retrieval Request.

OR

  1. Click Copy/Retrieve Files in the Retrieval Request form. Digital Storage Manager will automatically retrieve the files to the selected destination if it can locate the requested files in the local CD/DVD drive or a mounted location. If it cannot locate the files for which the Retrieval Request was generated, the Retrieval Options window will open, allowing you to select additional retrieval options, including Helpers, destinations, and behavior for missing files.
  2. Change the status of the Retrieval Request to Completed and click Update. A notification will be sent to the user who created the Retrieval Request.
