When reviewing this guide, there are several considerations to keep in mind regarding the information that is presented and what is possible in the client you are using. First, Virtual Ticket Developer client applications are available for Mac OS X and Windows operating systems. Because of the different versions and editions of both Mac OS X and Windows operating systems available, there may be a slight difference between the screen captures displayed in the online Help and the look and feel of the client you are using.
Secondly, the range of features available in the Mac OS X and Windows clients differ slightly. This guide provides information on using the Virtual Ticket Developer desktop client for Windows only. For information on using the Virtual Ticket Developer desktop client for Mac OS X, please consult the corresponding version of the online Help.
Additionally, in both the Mac OS X and Windows clients, there is a difference in functionality depending on whether or not you are working in a Virtual Ticket Developer only environment or a Virtual Ticket Developer with Digital Storage Manager environment. For example, the Retrieval Request feature is available for Virtual Ticket Developer with DSM, but is not available for Virtual Ticket Developer only systems. Conversely, all functionality provided with Virtual Ticket Developer only systems is available in Virtual Ticket Developer systems with DSM.
