Open any form in the Form Editor

The Form Editor Toolbar allows you to draw graphical and database field objects on the form. For a brief description of the tools contained in the Toolbar, point your mouse to each of the buttons in the toolbar below.

The Tools Toolbar allows you to place graphical form objects in forms.

Toolbar Elements

Selection Tool	Selects, moves, and resizes form objects, such as boxes, lines, fields, etc. To quickly activate the Selection Tool, press the 'S' key when a form editor window is active.
Text Box Creation Tool	Creates static text (for labels, headings, etc.). See Creating Static Text for additional information on using this tool.
Box Creation Tool	Creates rectangular boxes of various fills, colors, and line widths. Boxes created using the Box Tool can also be used to display images imported from the file system. See Drawing Boxes and Importing Images for additional information on using this tool.
Line Creation Tool	Creates straight lines of various angles, colors, and widths. See Drawing Lines for additional information on using this tool.
Field Creation Tool	Creates a rectangular text entry field whose contents correspond to the value of a form variable or a field in the Virtual Ticket database. See Creating Text Entry Fields for more information on using this tool.
Grid Creation Tool	Creates a grid with non-editable columns that display information about documents (of a particular document type) related to the record displayed in the form. See Creating Grid Fields for more information on using this tool.
Check Box Creation Tool	Creates a check box that can be used to display/edit the value of a form variable or a field in the Virtual Ticket database. See Creating Check Boxes for more information on using this tool.
Radio Button Creation Tool	Creates a radio button that can be used to display/edit the value of a form variable or a field in the Virtual Ticket database. See Creating Radio Buttons for more information on using this tool.
Popup Creation Tool	Creates a popup list from which values can be selected; the value selected corresponds to the value of a form variable or a field in the Virtual Ticket database. See Creating Popups for more information on using this tool.
Button Creation Tool	Creates a button with an associated action specified using MetaScript. When a user clicks the button, the action is performed. See Creating Buttons for more information on using this tool.
File Collector Creation Tool	Creates a file collector box corresponding to a file collection field in the Virtual Ticket database. Digital Resources can be dragged-and-dropped from the file system into the file collector to associate them with the record displayed in the form. See Creating File Collectors for more information on using this tool.
Thumbnail Creation Tool	Places a thumbnail image (or preview) of a digital resource on a form (available only on forms based on the Digital Resources record type). See Creating Thumbnails (Digital Resources Only) for more information on using this tool.
Tab Order Tool	Used to specify the tabbing order in which the cursor moves through the text fields on a form. See Setting the Tabbing Order for more information on using this tool.
Zoom Tool	Increases the magnification of the form display. CTRL + Click decreases the magnification of the form display.
