Creating Thumbnails (Digital Resources Only)

Creating Thumbnails (Digital Resources Only)

When a digital asset (file or folder) is dragged-and-dropped into Virtual Ticket, the system automatically generates a thumbnail preview of the file/folder. To incorporate this thumbnail preview into a form based on the Digital Resources folder type, you may use the Thumbnail Field Tool.

Important! The Thumbnail Field Tool is only available when formatting and designing forms based on the Digital Resources folder type.

To create a thumbnail on a digital resources form:

  1. Select the Thumbnail Field Tool from the Tools Toolbar.
  2. Move the pointer to the appropriate position, then click and drag to draw a thumbnail field on the form. A New Thumbnail box will appear in the form.

  1. Review the Control properties for the thumbnail in the Control Properties branch of the Properties panel. Thumbnails are always associated with the "Thumbnail" field and "Picture" datatype.

  1. Select Save Form from the Form menu to save the changes you have made to the form.

At this point, a new thumbnail field has been added to the form. Because only one thumbnail field can appear on each form, you can now move on to the next type of form object you want to place on the form. For details on moving thumbnail fields, please refer to the "Working with Form Objects: Supported Actions" section.
