Import Library Window

Import Library Window

Administration menu-> Library-> Import....

The Import Library Window is used to import items previously exported to a library file into the current database. This facilitates the ability to migrate forms, finds, custom queries, reports, folder types, document types, stored scripts, and stored solutions from one database to another (for example, a testing database to a production database).

Library Source Tree

Shows items contained in the loaded library file and that are available for importing to the current database. The Library Source Tree allows the user to select the entire tree or individual items for importing. The Library Source Tree together with the Database Destination Tree make up the Source Area of the Export Library window.

Database Destination Tree

Shows items that already exist in the database and any items that have been chosen for import. The Database Destination Tree together with the Library Source Tree make up the Source Area of the Export Library window.

Library Source Preview

Shows content of an item selected in the Library Source Tree.

Selected Folder Type: Shows fields belonging to the Folder Type.

Selected Document Type: Shows fields belonging to the Document Type.

Selected Form: Shows a preview of the form.

Selected Global Find: Shows general properties of the Find, including name, category, form the find is based on, shortcut key combination, etc...

Selected Custom Query: Shows the query's parameters and SQL Query statement.

Selected Report: Shows Report Definition information, Report Execution information, output format, and associated type information.

Selected Stored Script: Shows the contents of the script file IF the contents are displayable text.

Note: Other importable items do not show a preview.

Shows content of an item selected in the Database Destination Tree.

Add All to Database Destination Tree ( )

Adds all exportable items displayed in the Library Source Preview to the Database Destination Preview. This can be used to quickly add the entire contents of an source library import file to the Database Destination Tree.

Remove All from Database Destination Tree ( )

Removes all items previously added to the Database Destination Tree.

Add Selected Item to Database Destination Tree ( )

Adds the item selected in the Library Source Tree to the Database Destination Tree.

Remove Selected Item from Database Destination Tree ( )

Removes the selected item from the Database Destination Tree. Only items that have been added from the Library Source Tree can be removed from the Database Destination Tree.

Open... ( )

Opens a file system browser for locating and selecting a library file for importing.

Import ( )

Imports the items that have been added to the Database Destination Tree to the database. See Importing a library file for additional details.
