Before beginning to use the Database Monitoring and Maintenance Snap-in, you must specify the with which you would like to use. When enabled, each Plug-in will appear as a tab when a database is selected under the Database Monitoring and Maintenance Snap-in.
- Expand “MetaCommunications Services” in the tree portion of the Management console and click on “Management Console”. The Plug-ins Configuration pane will be displayed on the right side of the console.
Note: This and subsequent instructions in this guide assume that the MetaCommunications Management Console has already been opened.
- OPTIONAL: For each Plug-in you would like to disable, ‘uncheck’ the Enabled checkbox next to the Plug-in name in the Plug-ins listing.
Note: By default, all Plug-ins except for Digital Resources Classificator are enabled. The Digital Resources Classification Plug-in is a part of MetaData Service, but if enabled here, it will also be available in the Database Monitoring and Maintenance Snap-in.
Note: If you do not use InterSync, there is no need to enable the InterSync Plug-in or the Digital Resources Classificator Plug-ins.
- Click Save to save the modifications you have made to the Plug-in configuration of the MetaCommunications Management Console.
At this point, the appropriate console Plug-ins have been enabled, and you may begin using them to monitor the operation of services on your databases.
