Configuring the Application Server
In the first chapter, we introduced the concepts of ports, database links, and data sources and gave a brief explanation of how they are used by the Application Server. An introduction was also given to the Application Server's role within the client/server system and some of the functions it provides to fulfill that role. In this chapter, we will explore the details of the Application Server and discuss how to configure the program.
IMPORTANT! During the initial installation of the system, much of the Application Server program will have already been configured and set up through the Installation and Configuration programs.
