In Approval Manager, Jobs are abstract entities containing three simple pieces of information: a unique identifying Job number, a Name and a Customer. Though Jobs are not extensively used by Approval Manager, you can create Jobs in Approval Manager and assign Jobs to the Approval Processes you create.
Your ability to work with Jobs will be limited by the permissions granted to you by the Administrator.
![]() | Note: The concept of a Job and the related information that is stored for each Job is different for other MetaCommunications applications. For example, if you are using Approval Manager as a component of Workgroups, you will have less information available to you for the same Job when viewed in Approval Manager compared with the same Job when viewed in Virtual Ticket. |
Jobs are completely optional and, like Customers, do not have to be assigned to the approval processes you create. However, you might find it helpful to use Jobs in Approval Manager to:
- Organize your Approval Processes by Job.
- Coordinate Approval Processes with Jobs used outside of Approval Manager but elsewhere in your business.
