The New Job page is used to create new Jobs in the database. It can be accessed from various windows in the system, but the most common way is by clicking the New Job link in the Jobs Home page.
Three fields are required for defining a Job: Job Number, Job Name, and Customer. Of these three fields, the Job Number may not be editable. If the Administrator has set Jobs to auto-number and has not given the ability to users to override this, the Job Number field will display "<auto>" in non-editable text. If the Job Number field displays "<auto>" in editable text, it means that by default Jobs are set to auto-number, but this can be overridden by users when they are creating new Jobs.
By clicking this icon, you can mark the current Job as a My Item. White markers ( ) indicate that the Job has not been marked as a My Item. Yellow markers ( ) indicate that the Job has been marked as a My Item.
Cancels adding a new Job. The New Job page will close and the Jobs Home page will appear.
Job Number
Field for typing the unique identifying number for the new Job. If this field is not editable, the Administrator has configured the system to automatically number the Job. If this field is editable but contains the text "<auto>", the Administrator has configured the system to automatically number the Job, but has allowed users to override this by assigning a number of their choice.
Name
Field for typing the name to assign to the Job.
Customer
Field for typing the customer name to assign to the Job. This name must match the name of an already defined customer. If you do not know the name of the customer, you can search for and select a customer by using the Customer Find tool ( ).
Customer Find ( )
Opens a quick search window for quickly locating and selecting a Customer by typing a Customer Name or Code and clicking Go ( ) or by searching for and selecting a Job.
