Email Failure Warnings

If Approval Manager has been configured to send email notifications, a warning will be displayed for the administrator any time an email notification fails to send. This warning appears prominently in the sidebar of the Approval Manager interface when logged in to Approval Manager as the Administrator user.

Callout showing the Email Failure Warning displayed in the sidebar

The Email Failure Warning will indicate the number of emails that have failed, and will provide a link to the "Email Message Queue" for the Administrator to further investigate the failed emails.

Failures can be the result of improperly configured "Email Notifications and the Email Message Queue", a failure of the MetaSQLMail SQL Server Agent Job, a failure of the external SMTP Server, etc... Depending on the nature of the problem, it may be resolved from within Approval Manager (for example, improperly configured Email Notification Settings), or the resolution may call for action outside of Approval Manager (restarting a stalled SMTP service on the SMTP server).

When all failed emails are successfully resent or deleted from the Email Message Queue, the Email Failure Warning will be removed from the sidebar.
