Configuring Licenses

Configuring Licenses

The Application Server is designed to handle all licensing for the system by providing a specific number of concurrent user sessions for each client application. This eliminates the administration and maintenance required to assign individual serial numbers to each client application installed throughout your company. All serial numbers for the system can be found in the Certificate of License, available from the Customer Resource Center area of the MetaCommunications web site (http://www.meta-comm.com/customers/).

Adding licenses in the Application Server Shell

1. Select Licenses from the Configuration menu. This will open the Licenses window if it is not open, or bring it to the front if it is already open.
2. With the Servers folder tab selected, type the purchase date and serial number of a server access license in the appropriate fields and click ADD. This will register the server access license in the Application Server and unlock it for use with the Microsoft SQL Server database.

3. Repeat Step 2 for each server access license you have purchased for the system.
4. With the Clients folder tab selected, type the purchase date and serial number of a client application license in the appropriate fields and click ADD. This will register the client application license in the Application Server and unlock it for use.

5. Repeat Step 4 for each client application license you have purchased for the system.

At this point, all client and server serial numbers have been registered and licensed in the Application Server program. This has unlocked each client application for use by a specific number of concurrent users.
