Troubleshooting Image Portal Web Server Configuration Issues

Errors During Installation

If you experienced errors during installation of Image Portal, please check IIS Configuration.

On the Start menu, point to Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Turn windows features on or off

Make sure that the following components are checked:

Image Portal Doesn't Work

There is a known issue with non-working Image Portal after installation. After installation has completed please run Image Portal Diagnostics.

If your diagnostics result looks like the following, please proceed to the steps below.

1. Open Component Services

On the Start menu, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.

2. Open MetaArchiver Component Properties

In DCOM Config locate MetaArchiver component.

Right-click on the component. Click Properties in the context menu.

3. Customize Launch and Activation Permissions

  • Open Security tab
  • In Launch and Activation Permissions select Customize, Click Edit
  • Click Add... in the dialog appeared

4. Set Launch Permissions to Built-In IIS User

Grant the following permissions to built-In IIS User.

Built-In IIS user name will be different for different versions of IIS.
  • IIS 5, 6: IUSR_MachineName
  • IIS 7: IUSR

5. Run Image Portal Diagnostics Again

Diagnostics tests should pass at this point.
