Working with Form Objects - Supported Actions
This section is provided to give you an overview of the actions (moving, resizing, copying, pasting, and deleting) that can be performed on form objects contained in your forms.
Activating the Selection Tool . The selection tool can be quickly activated by pressing the 'S' key on the keyboard.
Moving Items—Form objects may be moved manually using the Selection Tool . Click the form object you want to move and drag it until it is in the appropriate position.
Resizing Items—When form objects are first placed, a box boundary is drawn to indicate the dimensions of the form object will have. You can change these dimensions using the Selection Tool . Simply click the form object and drag one of its handles to specify a new size.
TIP: You can proportionally resize form objects by holding down the shift key and dragging an object handle.
Copying and Pasting Items—You can copy and paste form objects as in most drawing programs. To copy form objects, simply select the appropriate form objects with the Selection Tool and select Copy from the Edit menu. To paste copied form objects, select Paste from the Edit menu.
Bring to Front/Send to Back—Form objects may be placed behind or in front of other form objects to enhance the format and design of a form. Select the appropriate form object(s) with the Selection Tool , then select either Send To Back or Bring To Front from the Form-> Order menu.
Note: When using the mouse to select multiple form objects, the front-most form object becomes the control object.
Deleting Objects—If you place a form object that you later decide should not be on the form, you can delete the form object by selecting the Selection Tool from the Tools Palette, clicking the form object, and pressing the Delete key. If you accidentally delete a form object, you can restore it by selecting Undo from the Edit menu or pressing Command-Z.
