Adding and Looking Up Digital Resources in DSM
Adding and Looking Up Digital Resources
Adding and Looking-up digital resources in the database are similar functions. Looking-up a digital resource is the manual process whereby the client checks to see if a digital resource for a file or folder is already in the database. If it is, Virtual Ticket DeveloperDigital Storage Manager will display the looked-up digital resource in the active client window. If the digital resource does not exist in the database, Virtual Ticket DeveloperDigital Storage Manager will display a message indicating that the digital resource has not yet been added to the database. Since digital resources can be looked up by dragging them from a Windows Explorer window into the client, a quick and efficient method for viewing file and folder metadata exists for users more comfortable working in the operating system than in the Virtual Ticket DeveloperDigital Storage Manager client.
Both adding and looking-up digital resources can be accomplished by dragging and dropping files/folders from the file system into client windows. See Client Tools for Adding and Looking-Up Digital Resources for more information.
