When a digital resource is added to the Virtual Ticket Developer system, the volume and folders in which it is physically located are also added to the system (for example, when the “\\Server\Share\Folder\Resource” digital asset is added, the folder “\\Server\Share\Folder” and the volume “\\Server\Share” are also added to the Virtual Ticket Developer system). When a volume is added to the system, the name of the server on which the volume is located is stored in the Virtual Ticket Developer database in addition to other digital resource information. The volume location can be changed to a different server (if, for example, a CD of digital assets is moved from one computer to another) or the volume may be specified as ‘removable’ using the Properties window for digital resource corresponding to the volume. When a volume is specified as ‘removable’, the Virtual Ticket Developer system searches for the volume when looking up, opening, moving, copying, or updating digital resources physically stored on the volume.
