The most common way to think of a digital resource is to think of a digital file. For example, graphic files such as EPS files, TIFF images, PICT files, and CT files, QuarkXPress documents, and Word documents are all individual files that can be thought of as digital resources.
In addition to this, Virtual Ticket Developer also manages file folders as digital resources. Managing an entire folder of digital files can make the management of digital resources a much simpler process. For example, you might drag an entire job folder from your file server computer directly onto a job ticket or form and have Virtual Ticket Developer automatically add and manage both the file folder and the digital files in the folder.
NOTE: Virtual Ticket Developer does not physically store the files or folders from the file system in the database. Rather, Virtual Ticket Developer maintains reference pointers in the database that point to the files and folders in the file system, eliminating the need to alter where you store your files and folders.
Regardless of whether you are working with an individual digital file or a file folder, the same management features and functions (i.e. moving, opening, updating, etc.) are applied by the Virtual Ticket Developer system.
