Attaching Documents To Digital Resources
Virtual Ticket Developer treats each individual digital resource as a folder record in the Digital Resources filing cabinet, allowing you to attach documents to a digital resource. For example, you may want to attach a revision document to a digital resource each time the original file is changed. Documents may be attached to digital resources through the Browser window or by using the Attach Document command in the File Cabinet Tool. One advantage to attaching documents with this command is that you are able to attach the same document information to multiple digital resources simultaneously. For example, you could attach a scanning spec sheet to five different images that all contain the same scanning parameters.
Attaching a document to a digital resource
1. Select the digital resource(s) to which you want to attach a document within Virtual Ticket Developer. Digital resources may be accessed through the File Board window, through a file collector field on a form in the Browser window, or through a search result.
2. Select Attach Document from the Tools Menu ( ). Optionally, you may also click the digital resource while pressing the Ctrl key and select Attach. An Attach to Digital Resources window will appear, allowing you to select the document you want to attach.
3. Click the Attach:[Group Name]:[Document Name]:[Form Name] expander button to specify the document type and form to use. The selected form will automatically appear in the window.
4. Enter the information for the document that you want to attach to the digital resource(s) and click Attach ( ). This will add the new document to the Virtual Ticket Developer database and attach it to each digital resource(s) that was selected.
