File Cabinet Elements

If you were to look at the organization of production information for a company without Virtual Ticket Developer, you would likely notice several filing cabinets used to store essential records related to their work. One or more of these cabinets is likely used to store information about past and current Jobs or Projects.

Inside these Job Cabinets are many Job Folders. If we were to pull one of these out and examine its contents, we might notice that the outside of the folder has some important information written on it, including: the Job Number, the Job Name, Customer Name, Due Date, etc.... While the Job Folder itself carries such information, because it is a folder it is also used to store additional documents and information related to it.

If we examine the contents of the folder, we would likely see numerous documents related to the Job. These might consist of a mix of proofing documents, customer communications, change order requests, packing slips, shipping information, specifications, email printouts, optical and other media containing additional information about the project, and more. Each document in the folder contains important information about the Job, but finding any given piece of information in a folder packed with documents can be nearly impossible. Furthermore, due to the nature of organizing work and information in physical folders, only one person can have access to the information at a time and important documents may frequently be lost or never even make it in to the job folder.

Virtual Ticket Developer provides an interface for storing, organizing, and making available all this information in its own type of electronic filing cabinet. But, unlike physical file cabinets, Virtual Ticket Developer's filing cabinet can be infinitely large and hold any amount of folder types (Jobs, Customers, Digital Resources, etc...). Additionally, each folder can itself contain an infinite number of documents. No matter how large the Filing Cabinet or Job Folders contained within it, Virtual Ticket Developer makes everything easily available for browsing and can return any piece of information contained within it through its fast and comprehensive search mechanisms. This unprecedented level of access is provided to all authorized employees, at the same time.

Note: Virtual Ticket Developer also provides granular permissions that allow administrators to limit access based on user and group.
