Creating a library file is a matter of selecting the objects stored in the database that you want to include in the library file using the Export Library window. When an object is selected for exporting to a library file, dependent objects (excluding system-defined object types) will also be exported. For example, if a Global Find is exported, the form on which it is based and all related database fields except for system defined fields are also exported. The exception to this is with Custom Queries. When Custom Queries are exported to a library file, no dependent objects are automatically exported with it.
Any database object that is selectable in the Database Structure pane of the Export Library window can be exported. If a parent object is selected, all child objects will be selected for export as well. For example, if a Folder Type is selected for export, all Global Finds and Forms for the Folder Type will be selected for export as well, in addition to all document types that may exist under the folder type. Any system defined fields related to the forms will not be exported, but any custom defined fields will be.
In general, exporting database items to a library file consists of the following activities:
Add Items that you want to export from the Database Source Tree to the Library Destination Tree.
Details instructions are provided below.
1. Select Library->Export... from the Administration menu. This will open the Export Library window if it is not open, or bring it to the front if it is already open.
important! All application windows using forms and database/folder types must be closed in order to access the Export Library window.
2. Select the appropriate object in the Database Source Tree and click Add ( 
). The selected item, along with its underlying structure and dependent fields, forms, folder types, etc... will be displayed in the Library Destination Tree.
3. Repeat Step 2 for each object you want to add to the library file. As each object is added, it will appear in the Library Destination Tree.
4. Click Export ( 
). A dialog box will appear, asking you to name the library file you are creating.
5. Type the name of the library file, select a location for the file to be saved in, and click Save. A new library file containing the selected components will be saved to the selected destination.
6. Close the Export Library window when finished.
At this point, the library file that was exported may be imported into other Virtual Ticket databases.
