The Virtual Ticket Developer InDesign Plug-in allows you to generate both thumbnail previews and full-size, multi-page extended previews of Adobe InDesign documents that may be read by Virtual Ticket Developer. When an Adobe InDesign document is dragged-and-dropped into Virtual Ticket Developer, its thumbnail and extended preview are copied to the Virtual Ticket database and made available to the users of the Virtual Ticket Developer system. Within Adobe InDesign, you may enable or disable preview generation and indicate the JPEG quality of the extended preview.
NOTE: Virtual Ticket Developer supports Adobe PDF file formats independent of Virtual Ticket Developer Production Pack.
Setting extended preview options in Adobe InDesign
1. Open the document in Adobe InDesign.
2. Select Save Preview from the Plug-Ins:Virtual Ticket Developer™ menu. A check mark next to the Save Preview menu item indicates that preview generation is enabled.
3. Select Preview Quality from the Plug-Ins:Virtual Ticket Developer™ menu and specify the level of quality you would like the extended previews to have (1 is the lowest level of quality; 10 is the highest).
NOTE: The Preview Quality setting affects the amount of time it takes to generate the extended preview and the amount of space in the database consumed by the preview. Lowering this setting will reduce the overall quality of the extended preview, but will also reduce the time it takes to save the preview and the overall size of the corresponding database entry.
4. Complete your work on the open Adobe InDesign document, then save and close it. When the document is closed, the Virtual Ticket Developer InDesign Plug-in will generate an extended preview of the document at the specified quality level.
To ensure that thumbnails and extended previews generated by the Virtual Ticket Developer InDesign Plug-in are displayed correctly within the Virtual Ticket Developer system, you will need to confirm that preview generation using the Virtual Ticket Developer Production Pack is the preferred option for obtaining thumbnails and extended previews for Adobe InDesign documents.
