Folder Types ( ) are entities that come predefined with Virtual Ticket Developer or are created by the Administrator. The purpose of Folder Types is to serve as a template for the different Folder Records that will be stored in Virtual Ticket Developer.

The use of Folder Types by the general Virtual Ticket Developer user is rather limited. Most of the user interaction with Folder Types is relegated to selecting the Folder Type for the type of Folder Record they want to open, search for, add to the system, or otherwise work with.

When Folder Types are created, they are populated with various database fields and file cabinet elements, including: Groups, Document Types, Forms, and Finds. When a Folder Record of the defined Folder Type is created in Virtual Ticket Developer, it inherits the structure defined for the Folder Type to which it is related.

Note: Virtual Ticket Developer and Virtual Ticket Developer with Digital Storage Manager Extensions comes predefined with the following Folder Types: Customers, Digital Resources, and Jobs. Workgroups systems will have the following predefined Folder Types: Cost Centers, Customers, Employees, Estimates, Departments, Digital Resources, Invoices, and Jobs.
