Introducing the MetaData Service Snap-in

Introducing the MetaData Service Snap-in

For each database attached to the Management Console and that uses InterSync, the MetaData Service Snap-in allows you to:

Assign Production and Archive Folders to be scanned by the MetaData Service.

Define Digital Resource Classification Roles.

Define File Association Rules.

Enable and Disable classification and association of resources scanned by the MetaData Service.

Using the MDS Snap-in, you can perform additional tasks related to the MetaData Service. For more information, please refer to “The MetaData Service Snap-in” on page 33.

It is important to remember that the MetaData Service is an InterSync component, and as such, the corresponding MetaData Service Snap-in used in the MetaConsole is available only for databases that include Digital Storage Manager in their database family. If you do not use InterSync, this chapter of the guide does not apply to you and may be skipped.
