Introducing the MetaData Service

The MetaData service is a component of InterSync and is responsible for extracting metadata (including thumbnails, full-size previews, textual content, and more...) from files and folders in the file system and updating the corresponding database records appropriately. In addition to this, the MetaData Service is also responsible for classifying and associating the files and folders it processes. The MetaData Service will process, classify, and associate files and folders when the File System Service detects that a file or folder has been added or changed in the file system.
