Introducing the File System Service Snap-in

For each database attached to the Management Console and that uses InterSync, the File System Service Snap-in allows you to:

Add and Remove Production and Archive Folders to be scanned by the File System Service.

Start and Stop scanning of Production Folders by the File System Service.

Rescan Production and Archive Folders with the File System Service.

Using the FSS Snap-in, you can perform a additional tasks related to the File System Service. For more information, please refer to “The File System Service Snap-in” on page 5.

It is important to remember that the File System Service is an InterSync component, and as such, the corresponding File System Service Snap-in used in the MetaConsole is available only for databases that include Digital Storage Manager in their database family. If you do not use InterSync, this chapter of the guide does not apply to you and may be skipped.
