Moving Jobs Manually

Moving Jobs Manually

An alternative method of moving jobs is to manually move the job from one cost center to the next. Moving jobs manually does require intervention by the user, but there are certain advantages to this method. Moving a job to the next cost center when the work is complete will provide a more accurate picture of the job's flow through your company's production cycle (i.e. entry/departure dates and times).

Moving a job in its workflow

  1. Click Move ( ) in an open Job Recorder page. A Move Job window will open.

  1. Select a Department by using the Department Selector ( ). The selected Department and Cost Center will appear in the destination fields.
  2. Click OK ( ). The Job Recorder page will display a notification indicating that the task/activity has been moved to another Department/Cost Center.

At this point, the job has been moved between two cost centers in its workflow. These changes will update the job's workflow automatically and can be reviewed with the Job Status and Cost Center Status pages.
