Appendix C - Required MS SQL Server Settings

If you are connecting to an existing SQL Server or setting up your own SQL Server for use with Virtual Ticket, it must meet the following requirements:

  • It is a supported version of MS SQL Server
  • It uses Mixed Mode authentication
  • Collation is set to "Dictionary order, case-insensitive, for use with 1252 charset"
Verify your collation settings! Using collation settings other than those specified may result in problems after your production system has been in use for some time.

Instances of MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition installed through the MetaCommunications installation wizard are automatically configured to use mixed mode authentication and the correct collation settings.
