At times, a Traffic Manager may want to activate an Activity outside of the scheduled sequence defined in the Job Schedule. This could be to correct a user mistake, to repeat a set of Activities after a review determines additional work needs to be performed, or to skip ahead in the schedule due to changing schedules or needs for a Job. This is performed by using the “Jump to Activity” feature in the Job Schedule.
When an Activity is activated out of sequence, the following occur:
- The successors will become Inactive.
- Predecessors that were not finished will be Skipped (if jumped over).
- Assignment records will be recalculated accordingly.
As a result of this, newly activated Activities will appear in user To-Do Lists while previously activated Activities will be removed from user To-Do Lists.
When selected, the Jump to Activity control will display a selectable list of all Activities in the Schedule. Selecting an Activity from the list will activate it, regardless of its current status.
