The Virtual Ticket Developer Production Pack is able to generate thumbnails and full-size, multi-page extended previews of QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and InDesign documents. When a graphic document is dragged-and-dropped into Virtual Ticket Developer, its thumbnail and extended preview are copied to the Virtual Ticket Developer database and made available to the users of the Virtual Ticket Developer system. The extended preview may be used to view information about the individual elements of the graphic document.
NOTE: Because the thumbnail and extended preview information is saved within the Virtual Ticket Developer database, it is not necessary to have the graphic application installed or to have the graphic document accessible online to view this information in Virtual Ticket Developer.
Viewing extended previews in Virtual Ticket Developer
1. Within Virtual Ticket Developer, locate and select in a File Collector the document whose extended preview you want to view.
2. Select Extended Preview from the File Cabinet Menu ( ). An Extended Preview window will appear, displaying a full-size preview of the document (see example below).
3. If necessary, click the Forward and Reverse arrow buttons to navigate through the pages of the document.
Viewing individual element information in extended previews
1. With the Extended Preview window active, click on an individual element within the document preview (you may select any element that has been included in the document, including images and text).
2. From the Windows menu of Virtual Ticket Developer, select Show Image Info. An Image Information palette will appear, displaying detailed information about the individual element that was selected in Step 1. The information displayed in the palette is determined by the type of element selected. (See palette examples below.)
With an individual element selected, you may perform numerous functions within the palette. For example, when a text element is selected, you may select and cut/copy the text, then paste the text into other documents. When an image element is selected, you may view its properties, open it within a new Browser window, and view an extended preview of the image. When an individual element is not selected, the Info palette will display the properties of the entire graphic document, including number of pages, page size, etc.
