Understanding Permissions in the Custom Application Menu

The Access and Run on Startup (if applicable) properties seen for Application Menu items are view-only representations of the permissions for the entities that the menu items are linked to.

For example, if a menu item links to a MetaScript Action, you will see the MetaScript Action’s permissions displayed in a view-only mode in the menu item’s properties. By extension, if a menu item links to a Report, Custom Query, or a Find, you will see the permissions of the corresponding Report, Custom Query, or Find displayed in a view-only mode in the menu item’s properties.

To simplify changing the access permissions of a menu item’s linked entity, a convenient link is provided that when clicked, opens the linked item’s properties.
