Installation

Integrating the InterSync services with the rest of your Digital Storage Manager or Virtual Ticket with the DSM Extension system involves installing the File System Service and MetaData Service on (at least) one of the Windows computers on your network and configuring these services to synchronize your databases with your digital resource file server(s). This chapter covers the installation of InterSync on a Windows 2003 computer. The next two chapters will cover the configuration of the File System Service and the MetaData Service components of InterSync.

IMportANT! While InterSync only needs to be installed on one computer on your network, performance is significantly improved when it is installed on each Windows 2003 computer acting as a file server.
